Preparations for FIFA Qatar
The host nation of the 22nd FIFA World CupTM has finished preparations to support the thousands of volunteers, tournament staff, and visiting media in Qatar during the 29-day tournament, which begins when the host nation plays Ecuador on November 20, 2022. The DEC, located close to the breathtaking Katara Cultural Village, will provide crucial support for several tournament-critical functions during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, including the Tournament Office, Main Operations Centre, IT Command Centre, Main Volunteer Center, and the Main Accreditation Center. The DECC will transform into the Main Ticketing Centre and Hayya Center during the event. It is situated in the heart of Doha's West Bay neighborhood, close to the Corniche and the FIFA Fan Festival.
Fans Festival
Al Bidda Park, located in the center of the city close to the Corniche, will serve as a gathering spot for fans during the tournament once the first game is played in Doha. Other fan venues, Al Maha Island in Lusail, where a beach festival is planned with concerts, entertainment, food and drink outlets, and the Al Maha Arena, which will feature live concerts, will also show matches.
